How we handle your personal data

Last updated: 13 August 2026

1. Who we are

This website presents SafeShift, a research project of the AnSyMo (Antwerp Systems and Software Modelling) research group at the University of Antwerp and a planned spin-off. Until a separate legal entity is incorporated, the controller for personal data processed through this website is:

University of Antwerp (Universiteit Antwerpen)
AnSyMo research group — SafeShift project
Campus Middelheim (Building G), Middelheimlaan 1, 2020 Antwerp, Belgium
Email: info@safeshift.be

The University of Antwerp has a Data Protection Officer who can be reached via the university's official channels (see uantwerpen.be).

2. What data we collect

The only personal data this website collects is what you choose to submit through the contact form: your name, email address, and the content of your message. We do not create user accounts, we do not run analytics, and we do not build marketing lists.

3. Why we process it and on what legal basis

We use the data you submit solely to respond to your inquiry (for example a demo request, partnership question, or technical question). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to messages addressed to us and, where your inquiry concerns a potential future collaboration, the taking of steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(f) and 6(1)(b) GDPR).

4. How long we keep it

Your message is delivered by email to our inbox (info@safeshift.be) and is not stored in any website database. We keep correspondence only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any follow-up, and no longer than 24 months, after which it is deleted.

5. Who receives your data

The following service providers process data on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — hosts this website (Cloudflare Pages) and provides the Turnstile spam-protection check on the contact form. Turnstile processes limited technical signals (such as your IP address and browser characteristics) strictly to distinguish humans from bots; this is a necessary security measure and does not involve advertising or cross-site tracking.
  • Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) — transmits your form submission to our mailbox as an email.

Where these providers process data outside the European Economic Area, transfers are safeguarded by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.

6. Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking technologies. Fonts are served from our own server. The video on our homepage is only loaded from YouTube (via the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain) after you actively click to play it; from that moment Google's privacy policy applies to the embedded player.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email info@safeshift.be. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the planned spin-off company is incorporated. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.
